GOLDEN HORSESHOE PREMIER AWARD

To the highest placed horse that, in the opinion of the veterinary panel, is best capable of travelling a further 40 km.

EXMOOR NATIONAL PARK ACCUMULATOR TROPHY

Presented by Exmoor National Park to the horse successfully completing the 2007 Exmoor Golden Horseshoe Ride, which has completed the highest number of kilometres on Exmoor in the Golden Horseshoe Class at Completion standard and above since the ride was first ridden under the BHS ERG rules in 1975, and under BERA or EGB rules from 1997 onwards.

THE TOP MAN AND TOP LADY AWARDS

Presented by Mr W D Francis to the highest placed man and lady to be decided, if necessary, on their horses’ pulse rates.

THE LAYBROOK CHALLENGE TROPHY

Presented by the late Mr Charles and Mrs Shippam to the highest placed Pure Bred Arab.

THE FERHANOUSH SHIELD

Presented by Mr and Mrs John Passant to the highest placed horse and rider completing the ride successfully in their first attempt at the Golden Horseshoe Class in their second full season as an advanced rider.

SAXON TROPHY

Presented by Mrs Pam James to the highest placed Part Bred Arab or Part Bred Native horse/pony with written evidence that either its sire or dam was registered Arab or Native breed. The actual horse/pony competing need not necessarily be registered with the Breed Society.

THE SHOWGIRL TROPHY

Presented by Mrs Cath Kennedy to the highest placed mare in Class 1.

THE GOLDEN HORSESHOE 100 MILE (BHS LDRG) CHALLENGE CUP - awarded to the rider from the SW or Wessex EGB Group completing nearest to the optimum ‘Gold’ speed.

THE DUNDRUM SHIELD - awarded to the crew of the winner of the Golden Horseshoe 100 mile Challenge Cup.

ARAB HORSE SOCIETY SUMMER SHEET

To the Pure Bred Arab finishing in the highest category with the best recovery rate throughout the competition.

ARAB HORSE SOCIETY ROSETTES

To the best placed Pure Bred, Anglo and Part Bred Arabs.

DUNLOP HEYWOOD VETERAN’S TROPHY

To the highest placed horse whose rider is 55 years or over on the day of the ride. To be decided on pulse in the event of a tie.

VETERAN HORSE AWARD

To the highest placed horse foaled prior to 1992. In the event of a tie to be decided on pulse rate.

INTERNATIONAL TROPHY

To the highest placed overseas rider who is not a member of Endurance GB. To be decided on pulse rate in the event of a tie.

HANDLING AND PRESENTATION AWARD

To the combination of horse and handler judged best in Class 1 at the pre-ride vetting.

CLASS 2 – EXMOOR STAG

THE EXMOOR STAG “FLEUR” AWARD

Presented by Mr and Mrs Doug Bond to the highest placed horse that, in the opinion of the veterinary panel, is best capable of travelling a further 40 km.

SAILLARD FULLER GOLD TROPHY

Awarded to the competitor nearest to Stag time of 12 kph. To be decided on pulse in the event of a tie.

SAILLARD FULLER SILVER TROPHY

Awarded to the competitor nearest to Hind time of 10.5 kph. To be decided on pulse in the event of a tie.

SAILLARD FULLER BRONZE TROPHY

Awarded to the competitor nearest to Fawn time of 9.5 kph. To be decided on pulse in the event of a tie.

DUNLOP HEYWOOD VETERAN’S TROPHY

THE ESPRIT DE FERZON AWARD

Presented by Mr and Mrs Rodney Morris to the highest placed horse foaled prior to 1992. In the event of a tie to be decided on pulse rate.

SW REGION OF ARAB HORSE SOCIETY SUMMER SHEET

To the Pure Bred Arab finishing in the highest category with the best recovery rate throughout the competition.

To the combination of horse and handler judged best in Class 3 at the pre-ride vetting.

CLASS 4 – EXMOOR EIGHTY

Normal EGB grading parameters and awards apply - and results to 10th place.

THE WITHAM GOLDEN COLONEL MEMORIAL TROPHY

Presented by Valerie Cooper to the horse judged by the Veterinary Panel to be in Best Condition at the end of the Ride and best capable of completing a further 25 km.

THE EXMOOR 80 IAN POCOCK MEMORIAL TROPHY - Awarded to the winner of the Exmoor 80 Class.

THE EXMOOR 50 MILE (BHS LDRG) CUP - awarded to the highest placed rider from the SW or Wessex EGB Group in the Exmoor 80 Class.

HANDLING AND PRESENTATION AWARD

To the combination of horse and handler judged best in Class 4 at the pre-ride vetting.

A SUMMER SHEET presented by Rod & Jenny Morris to the highest finishing Pure Bred Arab with the best recovery rate through the competition.

SW REGION OF ARAB HORSE SOCIETY ROSETTES

To the best Pure Bred, Anglo and Part Bred Arab. Also to the best Pure Bred gelding and the best SW Group member.

The Wayward Lad Trophy - presented by Ms Pauline Higgs - to be awarded to the non Arab or non Part Arab horse competing for the first time in either the Golden Horseshoe or Exmoor Stag class which, in the opinion of the veterinary panel, is in best condition at the end of the ride.

The Melcombe Shoot Award – presented by Mr Chris Kirby – to be awarded to a local competitor living within a 25-mile radius of Exford and competing successfully. This award will be judged over all four classes.

Farrier’s Award - to be judged over all four classes.
